The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) will host the first of two "From Lab to Market" Enrichment Seminars for Fulbright foreign students in Cambridge, Massachusetts, May 15-19. The seminar will bring together 66 Fulbrighters from 45 countries who are pursuing graduate studies in science and technology fields at American colleges and universities, and will focus on how public health advances can be translated into accessible, global technologies.
Seminar participants will interact with U.S. public health experts during panel discussions, present on public health strategies in their own countries, and visit industry-leading companies and research institutions in the Cambridge area. Fulbright students will also participate in a master class on "Developing and Demonstrating Effective, Innovative Solutions to Global Health Problems" and establish a peer network to address health challenges facing the developing world.
The second "From Lab to Market" Seminar will be held in Seattle, Washington, May 29-June 2, focusing on clean energy and the environment
ECA hosts the Fulbright "From Lab to Market" Seminars as a component of the 17 Fulbright Enrichment Seminars for foreign students hosted across the United States as part of its flagship Fulbright Program. These enrichment seminars engage U.S. experts and the local community, supporting the overall mission of the Fulbright Program–to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
