The category of Engineers includes several different types of engineers.
Aeronautical Engineers
The biggest problem we used to have filing H-1 and green card applications for this category of engineers was wages. It appears that governmental sources had determined salaries in these categories to be much higher than was actually the case in the market. So resolving salary issues used to take time and generally it used to take us a lot longer to file these applications. Also, because of the general downturn in the Aeronautical industry, getting labor certifications for AE's was a lot more diffcult than for other categories. Beginning 2008-2009, the slaraies seem to have become a lesser issue and the job market seems to be a little more stable.

We used to also have a difficult time establishing which degree is required for environmental enginering. It appears one could obtain a Master's degree in Env. Engg. after a bachelor's in various disciplines like Civil Engg, Chemistry, Chemical Engg, Biology, etc. This created some confusion when dealing with the govt. But again, this has become a lesser issue with time.
